The Storage Industry Awards (The 'Storries')
Although the event didn't start until 7.30 there were 80 of the Storage Industries finest in the Hotel Russell's bar watching the emergence of a certain Mr Rooney and a thumping 3-0 win to England.
That set the evening up nicely, 250 people enjoying the champagne reception with a smile on their face. The evening started in earnest when desert was served and Dave Lee (MBE) our comedian for the evening, did a 30 minute stand up set. Although close to the bone, a very funny man and one that laughs at himself!
Our guest of honour, George Cohen (MBE) took centre stage with the Storage Awards host, Stuart Leigh and George not only recounted what it was like winning the world cup, he also presented the 16 awards.
Once the awards were finished, the entertainment turned to music with Something Wicked playing a string of classics ranging from James Brown to The Jacksons, making way only for our Dj for the evening who played in to the early hours of the morning.
A good night was had by all, especially our winners, who are listed below. Well done to them and we look forward to welcoming you to the 2005 Storage Awards, where once again, the readers of Storage Magazine, will reward outstanding products and services.
